What to do with a burnt palace

Burnt carpet - an unfortunate accident. But, unfortunately, such situations are not so rare: a cigarette, an iron, a charcoal damage the floor covering. If you manage to turn the carpet over and remove the damaged space under the furniture, the stain will be hidden. But most often this cannot be done, and it is in a very prominent place.

Changing the entire carpet is troublesome and expensive. Therefore, minor repairs are needed. You can do it yourself.

The technology is not so complicated - both for a small hole and for a large area.

How to patch a burnt palace

The most crucial moment is to find the material suitable for the patch.

This is where small pieces, trimmings left over from carpet laying, come in handy. Another option: when the owners are sure that they will not rearrange the furniture for a very long time, then you can take a fragment for repair from under the sofa or cabinet. In this case, you need to pay attention to whether the restored part has not lost its color under the influence of sunlight.

If there are no such opportunities to get a patch, you will have to buy a small segment, trying to choose the carpet that exactly matches the texture and color.

The work will require several tools:

  • sharp knife (better - special construction);
  • metal ruler;
  • double sided tape;
  • glue (see instructions for it);
  • hard brush.

A burned-out place is cut with a knife (square, rectangle, circle). Exactly the same piece to be inserted.

How to make a measurement? There are three ways. You can take a piece of paper - make a "pattern", a template by which a patch for the carpet will already be formed. Or already cut out the affected fragment is useful for measurement. Another tip is to take the patch, attach it to the carpet and cut the damaged part along its perimeter. Be sure to try on: the size and direction of the pile should match.

If the base is not damaged or partially damaged, it still needs to be cut, otherwise the pile will be of different heights. If you glue without cutting the base, then you have to align the height of the threads - this is much more difficult. Adhesive tape is attached at the bottom of the patch around the edges to protect the threads from falling out.

Gluing a new part is not at all difficult. The main thing is a good glue and a press.

If you need to protect the floor, then an impermeable, but glue-holding piece of material that is dense enough, for example, thin cardboard, will do.

After the glue has dried, the carpet must be combed: the longer the pile, the more inconspicuous the patch.

Good advice: for restoration it is better to cut a slightly larger piece from the damaged palace than to leave a few burnt villi.

Efforts to restore an attractive interior should not be wasted.

How to patch up a small hole in the palace

Repeat all the same procedures as with a large patch, it is possible for a small burnt piece. But there are other options.

The first. For very small traces or (shallow), an original method is proposed - without buying material for a patch. This, again, is only possible when part of the carpet is under the furniture or sofa and will always be hidden from view.

First, remove all burnt or darkened (yellowed) threads. Then - cut a little pile of the required length in an inconspicuous place: it will be needed to align the damaged fragment. Next - gently glue the villi, observing the density and direction.

A certain thoroughness is needed when “pile-up”: it is worth taking a closer look at the arrangement of the threads and restoring the carpet properly.

After the glue has dried under the villi (under a small press), you need to comb the restored place and the adjacent part of the palace.

The second way. Acrylic paints that are resistant to water, you can paint over not too large a spot from hot objects: only the color must be matched perfectly and each thread will have to be painted separately.
